Jason Davis

Founder

Jason is a lifelong Chicagoan and holds a degree from the Illinois Institute of Art. Prior to starting Chicago Scanning in 2018, Jason worked as a creative instructor at Apple in Lincoln Park. It was during his time at Apple that he discovered new ways to digitize vintage media and his family’s positive reaction to seeing those old photos and movies sparked his interest in digital archiving. Jason has over 20 years of experience in professional photography and graphic design.

Tyler McMullen

Digital Project Manager

Tyler has 9 years of experience working with digital photography and various analog formats such as slides, negatives & motion picture film. He attended the University of Illinois with a major in economics. Tyler helps manage nearly all of the projects at Chicago Scanning from start to finish. When he isn’t multitasking at the office, you can find Tyler engaged in recreational sports and fostering pets.

Michael J. Gerrity

Audio, Video, and Motion Picture Manager

Michael graduated from The School of The Art Institute of Chicago with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Film, Video, New Media, and Photography. Michael has been working in the theatre, film, and TV industry for almost 20 years. Professionally, Michael has been digitizing and archiving media since 2014. Michael loves shooting on film and continues to produce his own art. His short films have been broadcast on TV and screened at festivals across the country. When he is not working with media, he can be found tinkering with his 3D printer or losing at online video games.

Kian Krash

Digital Photo Media Manager

Kian is a graduate of Columbia College Chicago with a BA in Photography. As an artist and photographer for over 10 years, Kian is experienced in producing high quality images in both analog and digital formats. Kian’s hobbies include working on his own personal art and traveling the world.

Kyle Shepherd

I.T. Consultant / Tech Manager

Kyle holds a Broadcast Communications degree and has over 15 years of computer repair and troubleshooting experience. Kyle enjoys installing linux on just about anything, making origami sculptures, kayaking, playing 16" softball and volleyball.
